Mr. Johnson is the founder of Law Practice Consultants, LLC. a Boston based legal consulting firm. Prior to establishing Law Practice Consultants, he practiced law for seventeen years concentrating on business litigation at a mid-size Boston firm. During his law career he spent three years as the firm's managing partner and five years as the chair of the firm’s compensation committee. Previously, Peter worked in sales and marketing for a large New England travel company. He received a B.A. from Bates College, a M.Ed. and CAGS in counseling from Boston University, and a law degree, cum laude, from Boston College Law School.
Mr. Johnson brings a valuable combination of skill and experience in law firm management, sales, marketing and counseling. With this background, he evaluates and assists law firms and lawyers in business development, client retention and management related issues.
In addition to his direct consulting with firms and lawyers, Mr. Johnson performs client interviews to evaluate client satisfaction and assess the existing and future needs of clients. This information is used by the firms to design and implement client based strategic planning and business development coaching programs for partners and associates. His article appearing in Marketing the Law Firm on client interviews was recognized by the publication as being one of the top ten of its articles in 2007.
Over the last few years Peter has developed coaching and business development training programs for lawyers of all levels of experience in firms of all different sizes and has “coached” over 400 attorneys on a one on one basis.
