Beachcraft – Miami, FL

Miami’s South Beach section is an international hotspot for beautiful people and fantastic dining.

Located inside the trendy 1 Hotel & Homes, Beachcraft overlooks one of the more interesting thoroughfares on the planet – Collins Avenue. The outdoor seating area is ringside to a parade of characters not seen outside the tropical soup of Miami. The free show is almost worth the trip itself.

But let’s not overlook the amazing meal we enjoyed in an atmosphere that was sophisticated yet relaxed. We brought a large group into Beachcraft on a Monday night, but that did not seem to phase the staff one bit. I started with a mushroom pizza appetizer that was a worthy meal on its own. When it came time to order I was torn between surf and turf. Beachcraft boasts a menu featuring locally caught fish as well as an expansive raw bar. But their meat entrees were also enticing.

I chose both, sharing orders of black grouper and a well-crafted, antibiotic-free steak. Both were fantastic, perfectly prepared and served with flair. I finished the meal by going far over my calorie limit by devouring a big slice of locally made cheesecake which was totally worth the extra time I will need to spend in the gym. (Or maybe I’ll just walk my next round of golf.)

Beachcraft has also developed a reputation for a fabulous Sunday brunch, which is where I plan to spend some time on my next trip to Miami. Beachcraft is an oasis of elegance and great service in the eclectic sea of humanity that is South Beach. Enjoy!
