Uncle Eddie’s Ristorante, Jupiter, FL

I had read several reviews of Uncle Eddie’s and, based on the excellent ratings, I had to try this year-old restaurant. The menu, which listed some Northern Italian staples, looked intriguing and included one of my favorites–a 16 ounce grilled pork chop.

Upon arrival my wife and I were greeted by the owner – the real Uncle Eddie – along with music and singing from the piano bar. The atmosphere was inviting, with low lighting adding a little formality.

The food was outstanding. We started by sharing a linguine vongole, which featured al dente pasta and tender half shell clams. The hot seasoned bread was a perfect complement. Our Caesar salad was made table side by Uncle Eddie himself. The portion was large enough for four but somehow we finished it all.

We could have shared an entrée, but those who know me also know that there is no sharing my pork chop. My wife ordered the chicken piccata which proved to be delicious. In addition to the pork chop I ordered a side of rigatoni with oil and garlic. The pork ranks up there with my all-time favorite which I had in Austin earlier this year.

The wine list is not extensive but ample and the prices of the wine and dinner very appropriate for the value received.

I confess that neither of us was able to finish our meal. But we revisited our dinner for lunch the next day. Still delicious – a sure sign of a great Italian meal.

We plan on becoming regulars at Uncle Eddie’s in the hope that, over time, he will adopt us.
